BTS: Sweet Edgy Photo Shoot + Mini Haul

Hello again! How was your Thursday? Mine was a so tiring but a lot of fun too. Just came home from a photo shoot at Alabang.
My model friend, Phoebe Rutaquio invited me to be part of a random weekday fun shoot as a makeup artist. Phoebe, instead of modeling, went behind the cam and took videos. She took step-by-step footage of me doing makeup on our model for the day, Tina. I believe they met each other as finalists of Meg Magazine’s Model Search last year. Our photographer Carlo, whom I’ve worked with a few times already allowed as at his house where we did the preps.
Sweet and edgy was our peg for this shoot. Phoebe showed me this photo of Katy Perry with a smokey eye look and sharp straight bob cut hair.

To make it more fit for daytime, I curled Tina’s hair and pinned them to set. Then I did her makeup using browns and purples to achieve a subtle smoke on her eyes. I used false lashes which I bought from Daiso. I’ll be featuring most of the items I used in my future post – a massive haul. So stay tuned for that.

Tina is very pretty even without makeup. =)

Straight from the camera. (Okay, just added my watermark. hehe!)

Please allow be to share a few behind the scene photos from our shoot earlier... =)

That's Phoebe taking video footages

...And Carlo all willing to lay on the (itchy) grass so he could take good photos. =)

Teehee... I took this shot. No post process. I would really love to learn photography too. <3

The shoot went well. I really enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to more shoots with them. Here is a teaser from the shoot.
Group shot grabbed from Carlo. =) Check more of his works here.

Oh so then after the shoot, I went straight to Festival Mall because I was hoping to purchase the Etude House brow gel in Color my brows #2. I read about it from Noe of COLORismyweapon and she raved about it. I was so happy to learn about a brow gel that is light brown. I have very dark brows and so I wish to make them look softer by using a lighter brown color but sadly, the brow gel is out of stock! So I just asked her to let me try the tester and OMG, I loved it too! The SA told me that the item is really one of their bestsellers so she just asked me to leave my number there so when stocks arrive, she’ll just give me a ring. Aww… I just wish to get my hands on those. I also tried their lippies but I can’t seem to find a nice shade that got me buying so I just left.

Although of course, as usual of me, I did not want to go home empty handed. Robinsons Dept. Store was just beside Etude House so I went there and checked their cosmetics section. I remembered that only Robinson’s carry the Careline lip glosses in tubes. I own one already in a peachy shade but I wanted something pink. So, I swatched the display testers and got the shade #107 for only Php60.
And then I also went browsing through Ever Bilena’s lipsticks and found a very lovely light pink shade that I loved immediately. I got the shade called Peppery Pink from the EB Famous line. It only cost Php160. The packaging is similar to my Maybelline Colorsensational lipsticks which I got from the US. The texture and formula is also very similar. It’s very creamy and moisturizing.

I’m yet to try both on coz my lips are just extremely chapped at the moment. So for now, just look at the swatches on my hand.

So there you go. Hope you enjoyed taking a little peak into how I spent my day from a random fun shoot to a simple purchase. Post in the comments below if you would like me to do a step-by-step blog tutorial as to how I did Tina's look. Thanks everyone! =)
