Dashing Bride - Joanne

It is another busy Tuesday for me. Our family is busy preparing for the 10th Anniversary Celebration of our publication's local weekly newspaper, AsianStar Express Balita.
I am very proud and happy to announce that Makeup and My World will also be published there starting from this week's issue. It will most likely have a similar content from what I post here in my blog too, it's just that it will be published and distributed locally. I'm definitely sharing more of that story on a different post.
Today's post though is another makeup makeover that I did. If you follow me on Instagram, you've most likely seen photos from this event already. :)
Meet my dashing bride, Joanne. She requested for a natural makeup look and willfully permitted. :)

I apologize if most of my blog posts are a bit delayed, but I will do my very best to make time and update you guys with lots of beauty-related, makeover posts.
In today's post, I am again featuring my super lovely and charming muse, Shine. You've most probably seen her in my previous posts and photo shoots. But this one's different, Shine represented one of her school's department as muse.
The hair and makeup I did for Shine is something that I know would work for a day ramp and even a special day event.

It was a sunny, early morning Tuesday when myself, my muse Shine and photographer Mot drove past the hills of an undisclosed place and prepped for a shoot.
I kind of forgot to take good before and after photos of my lovely Shine but let me just share some that will surely bring you to that wonderful place of beauty and solace.

KPop Stylista Shey @ 18

Hello everyone! How are you all doing? Now me, I'm doing great! I think this has been the longest time that I've not been able to update my blog for the reason of being ultra busy. Haha! Yeah! I mean ULTRA! I still get to update my FB, Twitter and Instagram a little so those who follow me there know what I've been up to recently.
But anyways, I'm back with blogging coz I miss it a lot! And what better way to be back than to share with you another makeup makeover.
So sit back and enjoy this roll of photos and makeovers.  Yes! Makeover(S) because this post includes 3 makeovers. ;)

Meet my lovely debutante Shey...

Theme for her party was KPop... and as I was in the mood for some Korean inspired looks as I was that time also been working on new Korean cosmetics to release following the much raved Encara BB Cream, I still made my research and created this look for Shey.

Koreans are known for their wonderfully pore-less porcelain skin, especially the female Korean celebrities. They either look like they're not wearing any makeup on or they have a prominent eyeliner to make their eyes the focal point.

Read more to see how I achieved Shey's KPop inspired hair and makeup as well as makeovers for her mom and sister...

Teen Beauty Johara

I always love and enjoy sharing with you my makeup makeovers.
Today's post is another one I did yesterday. It's always hard to travel when the rains pour in like there's no tomorrow. But strong winds and rain did not stop me to go to my lovely client. Hehe!
Meet my beautiful teen client yesterday Johara. Jo, as her family calls her, is actually the younger sister of my student chef client Lei. (See that entry here)
Lei asked me to help her sister out and prepare for their school acquaintance party.

Considering that this girl's only 15, I made sure to give her very natural and fresh looking makeup.

Please read more to check out her photos and some of the products I used on her. :)

Brookfield's Female Chefs Makeover

Hello everyone! Remember when I said in my previous post sthat I've done lots of makeovers in the past days and weeks? Yeah..I wasn't kidding. :)
I feel really blessed to be able to share my passion for makeup and beautifying to more and more people.
Over a week ago, I posted the official photos that my photographer friend Ned released on his FB page. Those were Brookfield's Culinary Arts program's graduation photos. If you haven't seen those photos, click here.
Well today, as I know most of my lovely readers come back for this kind of posts, I'm sharing with you the makeover photos of the female chefs from that shoot. I did 10 in total, 5 ladies and 5 men. So this should be part 1. ;)

FOTD: Current Fave Sexy Smokey Eye

If you've seen my recent post about mom's pin-up inspired makeover last Saturday, (if you haven't Click HERE), you've probably noticed I got my makeup trolley set up at home. When mom left, I had to think twice if I were gonna fix my things already or... yes, you guessed that right! I just couldn't resist   playing with them and putting makeup on myself too. Haha! (Sayang naman! Nasa harap ko na lahat o!) Plus, I had to try out how well my new Sigma brushes work. hihi!

Today's FOTD is my current go-to smokey eye makeup that I do whenever I want to feel sexy... ;)
If you want to learn what products I used on my face, read more...

Pin-up Inspired Makeup for Mom

Happy Sunday beautiful people!
As I have mentioned in my previous post, I've been doing lots of makeup makeovers recently, that today I'm sharing with you my client for yesterday. And she's no other than my beautiful mom, Whelma! =)
Mom attended a friend's 25th wedding anniversary at Manila Hotel last night and as usual, I did her hair and makeup. I always here the phrase "proud mom" but hey, this time I'm the proud daughter. Mom looks super gorgeous, I betcha! You need to read more and see the photos for yourself! ;)

Fresh Makeup for Entourage Beauties

Today's post is another set of makeover(s) I did over a week ago.
Meet my college friend Kimmi, who I've always been told looks so much like me. We've been called and mistaken to be the other one a number of times. We recalled how his then-boyfriend-now-husband who was also my classmate in one subject, got surprised I look so much like her. Haha! It was fun reminiscing and seeing her again with her lovely family.
Enough with my blabbering and let's get on with the makeover. ;)

Kimmi requested for curly hair and as I'm loving side-swept hair at the moment, I did a curly side-swept for her hair. I used a 1-inch curling iron to achieve tighter curls.

Makeover for Alyssa

I know I'm lacking up on posts but I hope to make it up to all of you with this wonderful makeover. ;)

Two Fridays ago, my niece Alyssa once again asked for my help to give her a makeover as she was joining a pageant for school. This girl's ultra talented in dancing and bagged the Best in Talent award.
I'm such a proud Tita! When I last glammed her up months ago for their grad ball, she was named "Star of the Night"(blog here) Certified award-winning beauty and talent! Hihi!

Wish List Haul: Urban Decay, Make Up Forever, Sigma

They always say, wishes are only for kids and they only happen in fairy tales. Well, what I'm sharing today is truly a dream come true. Hihi. I've wished for these things and have listed them on my "To Own List" for the longest time and they're finally mine now. Hihi. Though not like in fairy tales where a magical character surprisingly answers your wishes, to get these things I've worked for the hardest (blood, sweat, tears and all! Haha!). And I'm still extremely happy like a kid! =)

Last Saturday after doing Tita Perla's makeover for her Renewal of Vows (makeover post here), I went home with a package that I've long been waiting for! I've finally decided to cross out some of the top things in my wish list. :D

And then a week later, just yesterday, another big purchase came...something I've always for the longest possible time I know wished to have and own.

What are they? Read more to see...

Renewal of Vows: Bride - Perla

Good morning beautiful people! =)
I have been truly busy with work the past week thus the lack of post. I'm being blessed to have more makeup work than I'd imagine and I am very thankful.
Last Saturday was a pleasure as I was tasked to help Tita Perla to prep up for her and Tito Monching's 25th Wedding Anniversary and Renewal of Vows. :)
She's my long-time friend Ingrid's mom. It was fun going back to their home, after over a decade. I used to always go there whenever we'd have projects to accomplish and dance and plays to rehearse. We all couldn't even believe time passed by that quickly.

Tita Perla, or Nanay as her children lovingly calls her (I swear I'd love my future children to call me that too, hehe!), has amazing skin to start with so doing her makeup was effortless. I prepped up her skin with my favorite combo Celeteque Hydration Moisturizer and Encara BB Cream. For added coverage, I used Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation in some areas.

Review: Charm Luxe Flat Top Brush

I've been thinking for days what to blog next... I realized I have posted lots of makeup makeovers and super plenty of hauls and oh boy you don't how much things I still have in my drawers that I haven't shown you yet. Hahaha! But I myself kind of want to change things up and thought I haven't done much reviews on the things I have, especially the ones I've been lovin' a lot. Well, this brush is topping my most loved products!

One of the first few things I posted here in my blog early this year was when I purchased my first Charm Brush. I got it on sale that time. (Read the unboxing post.)

If you all have been following me and have read my blog in the past days and weeks or so, I've hinted that myself together with 5 other other beauty bloggers  have been cooking up a HUGE GIVEAWAY. Today is the day!

I am definitely a newbie in blogging so when Jannie of Jannieology invited me to be part of a Facebook group that she recently created called Beauty Bloggers United (BBU), I became so thrilled. My Turn for a Makeover ala Wedding Guest

Aside from doing hair and makeup for mom and my sister Myra, and grooming for my Kuya Re, I also did groom 2 guys, my Kuya JD and my nephew Ish (both part of the entourage), as well as makeup for my lovely sisters Ate Che and Ate Mich (Okay, I know I know...we are a family of 8 kids. hehe!) I wasn't able to take good photos anymore. We all were trying to do things as fast as we could. Hehe!

So that was a total of 4 ladies and 3 guys. :D

Well, I needed and wanted to slip in a few minutes of my time to do makeup for myself. I wished I had the luxury to do my hair as well but time was running and I didn't want to be late for the wedding. Haha! I started working at 9am and we left our prep place around 20mins before 2pm.

I think I did my makeup for less than 10 minutes and hair for just a few seconds. (seriously!)
Pardon the not so glamorous hair and the somewhat awkward I'm-holding-my-breath-pose but let me just instead share with you the list of products I used on myself that day... ;)

How I Groomed "The Groom"

Hey everyone! =)

I'm so happy to be blogging for the third day in a row! Feeling super masipag to share with you tidbits about my Kuya's wedding. :)

I've blogged about MOM's makeover, and that of my Ate Myra as the bridesmaid the past days.

Now, I will not only show you what my Kuya looked like, I'll tell you how I did it and show you the products I used so stay with me and read on.

Do you not notice a huge difference? Well, that's actually the point. ;)
What we want to achieve is a natural, flawless look using just the basic things so that we could avoid having an oil-slick face. This is especially important during weddings because thousands of photos will be taken even that of the groom.

Loveliest Bridesmaid Myra

Today, I'm sharing with you my sister's makeover.

Simple, light and fresh with romantic curly hair for my ate!

Mother-of-the-Groom Makeover for Mom

My brother finally tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart. Last weekend, my mom finally got the chance to walk the isle for her son's wedding. She's attended atleast 50 weddings as a godmother, I believe. (Bongga talaga ni Inay, in demand!) So this one is indeed very special for her! Of course, I would not let the chance pass and I assigned my self to do her hair and makeup. :)

Read on as I share how I did mom's makeover...

DIY: Color Your Hair at Home

Hello! How's everyone? I'm back home from our family's Nueva Ecija trip for my eldest brother's wedding. :)

I'm excited to share with you photos from that special event as well as makeup makeovers I did for my family. But for today, I'd like to share with you how I colored my hair. Did this as part of prepping up for our big family event. Hehe! Yes, I do color my own hair here at home. Always.
I've always had the problem of growing white grey hair. By always, I mean I've had it ever since I was in 2nd grade (elementary, 7 or 8 yrs. old). It's in the genes. I remember having my first ever hair color experience when I was in 3rd grade. Haha! We owned a salon back then so these things were always at hand. I've tried everything from those color squeeze tubes you buy from HBC/Hortaleza, huge tubs and bottles from salon suppliers, accessible ones from malls and beauty sections, henna, and even hair blackening shampoos that cost PhP10/each which you can buy at drugstores.

Stay with me as I share how I transform my not so lovely looking old man's hair to a more pleasant and feminine locks... hehe!

Rockin a Shorter Hair

Breather from my uber big long hair.
Finally went out to get a cut. Though I've only had a haircut 2 months ago. It's grown so fast that I feel like it wen out of control. My hair got super dry. I'm almost always too lazy to brush it. Haha! I just always put it up in a high bun.

Do you think short hair fits me? ♥ ♥ ♥

Amazing Divisoria and St.Francis Finds

Two weeks ago, I finally got to go back and visit Divisoria with my mom and sisters. Our main reason for going there was to purchase some fabrics for our dresses and gowns for my brother's wedding this coming weekend. But of course, I didn't miss the chance and picked up a few more things at amazing prices. hehe! Oh and I also included my haul for when I went to St. Francis Square a few days later.
Amazing products and deals! Read on for more photos and prices... ♥ ♥

And yet again another beauty haul.

This is the first-time I tried doing a pre-order for an imported product.
This is also the first-time I received a wrong product. ='(

Makeup Workshop for Stage Performers at DLSU-D

I recently facilitated DLSU-D Chorale's Makeup Workshop attended by their trainees and members.
Every 1st semester of the school year, the Performing Arts Group recruit trainees to be part of each of the organizations. I was an active member and officer of the DLSU-D Chorale. I learned lots of amazing things because we were given the opportunity to take up free workshops for different topics. After I graduated, I started teaching Makeup for the past 3 batches of new trainees.

Makeup Workshop OOTD + NOTD

Hello my lovely readers! Just got home from an out of town trip and I'm back to blogging! My family went to visit my brother at Nueva Ecija who's busy preparing for his upcoming wedding in 2 weeks. Sooo excited for that!  =)
But today, I'll be sharing with you my first ever outfit post.
Last Saturday, I went back to my school to facilitate a Makeup Workshop for the new trainees of my university organization DLSU-D Chorale. I've been doing this workshop and teaching the new breed of talents since the past 3 years.
This time, like what I did with my previous makeup look, I went out of my comfort zone and tried wearing a dress. I'm always a laid-back type of person. I wear shirts and jeans and slippers all the time so I'm not sure if I pulled it off. My friends were teasing me when they saw me. Haha! I was just trying a new look. So, enough blabbering and let's see the things I wore...haha!

Attempt on Colors

WARNING: Too much vanity...

Two nights ago when I was home alone, I posted a makeup-less photo of myself on my personal FB account. I was feeling kinda good about my skin that time though I know it's not perfect. It's more about loving your own skin and beauty. Hehe!
Someone asked why some girls can't survive going out without makeup on. I think, some do it because they want to feel more beautiful. Others do it to let out their inner creativity. And this is what I did...

That day, I also had a makeup client at home and so my things were set up. The night was passing by and I was itching to finally do makeup on myself that's something different. I also tried re-discovered products from my collection and used them on this look.

Not that I'm afraid of colors...I'm just often naturally picking more neutral colors for an eye makeup. With this look, I tried going out of my comfort zone, so let me know what you think of this... ;)
Read more if you want to see more photos and all the products I used to achieve this look...

Makeover for Bridesmaid Maebz

Yesterday, I had the privilege to do another hair and makeup service for someone. Meet my client, Maebz who attended a wedding as a bridesmaid.
What's unusual about this gig is that, a client came over my place. Except for my family, this was a first. It was fun coz I get to setup my things here at home. hehe!
Anyways, read more if you want to see the transformation and some extra photos. ;)

Glam Debutante - Tammy

Last Saturday, after coming from Caleruega and Tagaytay for a wedding gig (blog entry here), I rushed through the pouring rain and went to Muntinlupa for a debut. Talk about major road trip! Haha!
If you have been reading my blog, I've shared with you in previous posts the Hello Kitty Overload Pre-debut shoot that I did with my beautiful debutante, Tammy. If you haven't seen that, click here and here. ;)
Well, the day has finally come and now I'm sharing with you my debutante's transformation into a young beautiful lady ready to conquer the world.
To achieve that more appealing look, instead of going for neutrals, I opted to give Tammy purple smokey eyes. It sure did emphasize her naturally beautiful eyes.
Subtle glowing pink blush for the cheeks and nude pink lips to complete the Barbie-esque inspired makeup.

Radiant Bride - Melissa

I apologize for being MIA the past week. I've been really busy with work. And also, the past days filled with heavy rainfall and flooding was quite devastating. Though my area wasn't affected, thank heavens, I've still been really worried by the ones who were victims of the calamity. That's besides the fact that we had a terrible internet connection the whole time it was raining hard. Let's just all hope, pray hard and extend help as much as we can, to those who are now in most need.
Today is a brighter day. And so I wanted to share with you another bridal makeover that I was again privileged to do.
Preps at Royale Tagaytay at 4am last Saturday =)
We had to come there the night before since they were having a morning wedding at Caleruega.

Tammy's Pre-Debut Shoot Part 2

Have you seen my Hello Kitty themed Pre-Debut shoot that I posted a few weeks back? Well if you haven't, you can CLICK HERE. :)
Last Saturday, we did part 2 of the shoot as Tammy told me the first set didn't come out so well (photog's fault. sad.). I'm not sure what happened, I haven't seen photo outputs from that except those that I took myself.
I pretty much did the same makeup or continuity... We did the hair differently though.
I did big loose curls on her. She said she liked it better this time. The last set was kind of girly and young. This time it looks a little matured and feminine. :)

WINNERS!!! July 2012 Birthday Giveaway

I know I promised to post this a day after the giveaway closes but please forgive my extremely bad and unstable internet connection. It's probably because of the weather too.

Three weeks ago, I opened my first ever blog giveaway. I honestly never expected to receive such an overwhelming response. There were total 2015 entries, but I had to remove a few that didn't follow directions just to be fair. >.<

I also had to verify all the entries' validity. And so...

After much waiting, the 10 LUCKY WINNERS are... Drum roll please...

Day Diary: Gorgeous Eye Shadows, Food Tripping, 5D Ride

The day after this post, Jay accompanied me to Makati to get my Macbook Pro checked up. I haven't opened it for weeks and I thought my charger was the problem. When we arrived at the Power MAC store at Greenbelt, the guy who checked my laptop and charger confirmed that the latter was really the problem. Ouch. Gastos! I didn't buy a new one yet since my Kuya JD adviced me that he'd help me buy one. Hehe! So, Jay and I just decided to stroll around the malls. =))

I've been meaning to go to Landmark for the longest time because I've read a lot of great things about the random makeup brushes they sell there and I wanted to check them out. Gaaah! I fell in love. I purchased 2 makeup brushes and a few other things but I'm showing that in my next post which is another haul. :D

For now, I'll just share with you a few photos of how the rest of my day went...

First time to spot these new babies! Have you seen these ones already? Gorgeous single eye shadows from Fanny Serrano. Highly pigmented. I couldn't resist and bought 2 shades. :)

Let me now first share a few photos of how the rest of that night went...hehe!

Day Diary: Alma Mater, Jay's New Haircut, Leg Wax, Food Tripping

Last Wednesday, Jay came in straight from his weekly noontime radio program Sangguniang Bayan On-Air (station at Calamba, Laguna) so we could attend DLSU-D's Broadcast Journalism's Zest-O General Assembly. Jay and I have been together for almost 6 years and we met as officers of the BroadJourn Program Council back in college. I live just across the school so I often get the chance to visit but coming back to school with Jay was really very special.
The freshmen students were warmly welcomed and fellow alumni came in to visit.
When we arrived at Mila's Diner, fellow alumni Cheryl Adame, aka Rica Hera of 101.1 YES FM was there entertaining everyone with her funny antics. She also shared how she became part of the well known radio station to get the new ones inspired. Other fellow program council members from the batch lower than mine were there.. Shout out to Alex and Karen of TV5. ;) We're all very proud of you girls!
Oh and I also met with my super close bestfriend/seatmate Mae who went with her longtime boyfriend Mark, huhu! I forgot to take a picture with her.
After the program, Jay and I decided to stroll around the campus and reminisce. Haha! The used-to-be-canteen is now a National Bookstore. Bongga!!
We also visited the post-production room/office of the MPR boys who were also very close to us back in the day. Such a fun day seeing old fellows. Brings back so much memories!
And coz Jay haven't had lunch yet, we went out to eat... Yummy student meal!

E-Session: Marlies and JR

Marlies and JR got recently engaged last May. And to celebrate that wonderful event, they wanted to do a couple shoot, not yet a pre-nup shoot since the wedding will still be scheduled and not yet soon.

Marlies is a 20 year-old Filipina-German who was just so awesome to work with. I actually got stunned by her beauty the moment I saw her. She's got beautiful brown eyes and just a lovely face no one would just pass.

Like most of my clients, Marlies requested for a natural look. Having such beautiful brown eyes, I picked up more on the plum colors to emphasize it further.
Subtle glowing skin using Encara BB Cream, set with powder, coral blush and lips plus highlight and bronzer. =)
I just realized after the shoot that this beautiful woman looks like actress Bea Alonzo!! Don't you agree with me?? She's super pretty in person and of course in photos...

Makeup for Architect Kate's Oath-taking

I recently got the privilege to help Kate prep up for her Oath-taking as a new architect. Kate, who is my batchmate from DLSU-D's Performing Arts Group requested for a natural look and a side-part, messy hair updo.
While I was doing Kate's makeup, I can't remember how many times I told her how beautiful her skin is. She does have a few dark spots but her actual skin is very nice, healthy and supple. :)
To learn what products I used on her, read more...

Birthday Feast!

Just before I go back to my usual makeup posts, I wanted to share what feast my family prepared for me during my birthday. =)
I never thought I'd celebrate or whatnot but my lovely mom prepared a feast, my kuya shared some funds, my Ate brought some fun, chilled scramble, Jay brought a cake and I volunteered to prepare a cheesecake for the very first time. =)
My sister preparing melon flavored shaved ice plus some sweet and fun toppings. It felt like a kiddie party! Hihihi!
