Makeup Makeover by Aila Apolo. Jeno was kind of worried at first. He told me that he was not confident because he didn't know how it would look like. It would be kind of his first time to do drag. I told him not to worry 'coz I assured him that he'd be glammed up! =)
I've been a fan of Petrilude from Youtube for so long and I learned a lot of my skills from him, especially in doing drag makeup. I don't see anything wrong in doing this. Having the confidence to do drag is just amazing. And so here's what I did on my friend.
I prepped his face with a moisturizer, let it sip a bit and started groomin his brows. I only cleaned up some hair and didn't want to make it look like a girl's brows. Instead, I used a glue a applied it at the bottom part of his thick brows. I should have used a glue stick so it would have a cleaner effect but I didn't have any at that time. After the glue was set, I applied a cream concealer and covered the part with glue, starting to shape the brows.
On his face:
Rimmel Lasting Finish #200
Fanny Serrano 2-way foundation in Chino, Silk and Rajah
E.l.f duo blush and bronzer
Shawill blush
On his brows:
In2it brow powder
Fashion 21 dark brown eyeshadow powder
Highlight shadow for the browbones
On his eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion - Original
Fashion21 Color Set (black, blue, turqouise blue, ivory, purple)
Maybelline Black Gel liner
Fashion21 white eyeliner (waterline)
Nichido Girls' Night Out Liner in Purple (lower lash line)
False Lashes
On his lips:
Burt's Bees Replenishing Lip Balm
Professional Lip Liner in Red
Jordana Lipstick in Vibrant Red
L'ancome Juicy Tube
I demo'd to Jeno how to do this pose, haha! I think he pulled it off graciously! Seeing his face light up the moment I gave him a mirror while finishing off the look was so heart-warming. He even exclaimed that he already felt confident to win. =) Thus, being so game in doing these wonderful poses. hehe!
The feel of this photo, to me, is very Beauty Queen-ish! I think the only thing missing is a glamorous crown. =) I asked him to remove his hoodie and I styled it like an assymetrical dress.
Woot! Woot! So happy about how the look turned out. Oh btw, we used 3 separate wigs to achieve this hairstyle. He borrowed them from his friend. After attaching the wigs, I decided that it would look better if it's pulled on one side. It's also a way to showcase those wonderful chandelier earrings!
Guess what?! He place 3rd in the pageant and won the title "Bb. Lakambini ng Mindanao 2012" plus a special award, Best in Lipstick! Haha! That was so hilarious when I learned about it. I feel so proud of my friend. =) He said everyone in the pageant loved his makeup. He even said that he feels like the people was amazed only of his makeup. I told him otherwise. I told him that the makeup only helped with his confidence, and definitely his confidence and wit and charm got him winning! =)
